Outreach United Resource (OUR) Center Silver Anniversary Gala – 10/1/2011
Longmont’s Outreach United Resource Center, better known as the OUR Center, contacted me after one of their members saw the story A Man and His Van about the Hippie Limo in the Business Section of the Colorado Hometown Weekly. The OUR Center’s mission is to help individuals and families experiencing hardship to obtain food and clothing as well as address their potential needs regarding utility and rental assistance, shelter, prescriptions, affordable child care, budgeting advise, transportation, job searching, and advocacy in getting help for disabilities. The populations with these needs are ever growing these days, but sadly the resources for meeting them are shrinking. Christine Marckesano, the OUR Center’s Communications Director, noticed my own mission of supporting non-profit and not-for-profit organizations with a social mission and asked if I would be willing to donate a package to their upcoming Silver Anniversary Gala and Silent Auction (sponsored by Amgen) to help raise funds to support their efforts. Over the years I have found myself and several people close to me experiencing some the same needs they are committed to addressing, and in honor of myself, my family members, and my friends, the Hippie Limo is glad to have the opportunity to donate a Magical Mystery Tour package to their cause.
Please join the OUR Center on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 5:30 PM at the The Plaza Conference Center in Longmont, CO to celebrate their 25th Anniversary of service to the community. The evening will include auctions, dancing, dining, and the music of Colorado’s favorite swing orchestra, The Hot Tomatoes! Sponsorships start at $1,000 and include tickets and recognition. Individual ticket price is $75 for this formal, black-tie optional affair.
