Broomfield Senior Resources Meals on Wheels Basket Auction – 5/6/2011
During the respective terminal illnesses of my immediate family, Meals on Wheels was there to provide occasional (as much as was possible with minimal funding) nutrition when we most needed it. The time and energy it took to take care of each of my family members was great, and we did not often have time to prepare a good meal for any of us, let alone for the person who needed it most. We were grateful for every dish they brought as it gave our sick family member a good meal and gave us just that much more time to be with and care for them.
Though most of my family members have passed in different states, when I see a local Meals on Wheels organization I can’t help but want to support it. Nearby we have the Broomfield Senior Resources that provides a Meals on Wheels service. The organization is having a Basket Auction to benefit their efforts on Friday, May 6th, from 6:00 until 8:00. Registration for the auction begins at 5:30 p.m. The event consists of a silent auction from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed by a live auction from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. During this time complimentary wine and appetizers will be served. Admission to the event is free and you will surely have a good time. The event is held at the Broomfield Community Center, 280 Lamar Street, Broomfield Colorado. Click here for a map to the center.
The Hippie Limo has donated a ride to one of the baskets for silent auction bidding. Please stop by and contribute to one set of wheels and then enjoy a ride in another with the Hippie Limo!
