Humane Society of Boulder Valley’s Puttin’ on the Leash Benefit and Silent Auction – 4/23/2011
Being the proud adopter of many stray and injured animals, the Hippie Limo is donating a package for a three-hour night out in Boulder to the Humane Society of Boulder Valley’s upcoming benefit and silent auction Puttin’ on the Leash – 2011. The benefit will be held April 23rd, 6:00 PM at the Coor’s Event Center on the University of Colorado campus. This year’s theme is based on the society’s characters Jacques Catsteau and his dogged crew of ocean explorers. I imagine this means attendees should consider wearing nautical-based evening wear. Special guests at the event include Mike Nelson, Chief Meteorologist of Denver Channel 7, and Dr. Lee Woods of Broadway Animal Hospital. You can expect stories, presentations, food, and drink at this once-a-year affair.
Originally the Hippie Limo had planned to be parked out front of the event so would-be bidders at the silent auction could see the fun awaiting the winner. Unfortunately, construction at the Coor’s Event Center precludes even the HSBV from parking its mobile adoption center on the grounds. Maybe next year.
We are happy to be able to donate to this worthy cause. Over the last 20 years my extended family, in-laws, nuclear family, and friends have adopted 25 strays, both directly from the street (or forest in some cases) as well as from Humane Societies in three states. Each of these animals have been a joy to our lives and we want to help ensure that organizations like the HSBV continue to help pair needy animals with loving owners.
